Ten Songs to Digitize By

What do our digitization techs listen to while working to preserve valuable historical treasures? The answer may surprise you.  Maybe it's the long hours, or the trance-like state achieved during digitization.  Maybe it's the rhythm of the conveyor belt.  But for whatever reason their musical preferences veer into strange territory.  A recent informal poll revealed a number of rare musical gems, and from these responses we've crafted the following digitization playlist.  (Special thanks to Hovhannes, Anthony, Eddie and Carolyn.)

1.  10 Hours of Pirates of the Caribbean Music

Yes, ten straight hours of this swashbuckling theme.

2.  10 hours of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" (Chorus)

This version dispenses with the verses and just gives you what you love: the chorus.  For ten straight hours.

3.  Baby Metal - "Gimme chocolate!!"

J-pop meets metal, with a surprisingly catchy chorus.

4.  "Habibi ya Nour el Ayn"

Get on the dance floor.  No wait, keep digitizing.

5.  Richard Cheese's "Welcome to the Jungle"

A spirited lounge version of the Guns N' Roses classic, from Cheese's 2005 album 'Aperitif for Destruction.'

6.  "My Heart Will Go On" (Titanic Theme Song) performed on recorder

Love, passion, trust. Never Let Go.

7.  Disney's Frozen "Let It Go" - Official Baby Version Featuring Ella

Little Ella was four years old when she recorded this.

8.  Yoko Ono - "Bad Dancer"

The art world icon shows off her moves.

9.  "Shia LaBeouf" Live

Rob Cantor's absurd, theatrical gesamtkunstwerk.  Don't miss the ending.

10.  "Everything is Awesome" (LEGO Movie)

Everything is cool when you're part of a team.
